Learnt a new trick today... My key would only go into the ignition barrel halfway... Tried everything with no luck.. Rang a local commercial services and the guy told me that it sounded as if the end pin in the ignition barrel had stuck so it was preventing the key being fully inserted.. The trick here is if your key has a hole in the end (the tip end of the key, not the grip end!) you can use a hacksaw to cut out the end of the key! (see pic). I wasn't sure if he was having me on but I might as well give it a go as I was stuck on the pump at a garage.. I managed to find a hack saw and did as advised.. The key worked fine. Great little driver tip that got me home on a Friday without spending a fortune on a call out. (truck was an 04 Renault Premium)
