Are Owner Operators a dying breed?

Ive been an owner driver and small fleet operator/owner for many a year now... Defiantly less off us about. The money never went up with the costs so theres less profit in the job now unless you offer a specialised service (heavy plant or special movements) The job used to give you a decent wage, now it just gives you wage if your lucky enough to get paid and keep working...
Bring back the good old days..
